We’ve all been there – single, barely ready to mingle and feeling a little sorry for ourselves. Sure, there’s some fun parts of being single in your 20s. But we all have those moments when all we can do is laugh at our single, non-existent dating life. And since it can sometimes feel like a bit of a joke, these are the memes that will be relatable af to those of us who are painfully single.

When your dating life is non-existent

We could follow through with Tinder matches and go on dates, but if their message banter is already dissapointing, what's the point? If you have zero dates, you can't be let down! That's just smart.

The feels when you go on first dates

What should I wear? Is this too fancy? Is this too casual? What do I talk about? What do I usually do with my hands?! First dates are not fun for the irrational thinkers, and neither is the follow up who-texts-who-first conundrum. For 99 per cent of the time, you spend the date thinking "I have no clue what I'm doing."

When your family and friends start to ask if you’re seeing someone

Because when talks about your dating life with your fam and besties get serious, of course you're going to be childish and put on a mocking voice like the Spongebob meme. "No I haven't been on a second date with that guy, Mum. If you like him so much, maybe you should date him."

How you feel when you meet other single people

The feels when you go out to a trendy af place and you realise you don't fit in at all. When did everyone get so cool and when did I get so daggy? Somehow when you're single, meeting people isn't a smooth encounter. It usually involves you putting your foot in your mouth and letting that person know just how not chill you are.

When people on Tinder look nothing like their photo

Annnnnnnnnnd I'm out.

When you think of what you have to offer people

Wit? Humour? A charming personality? It's hard to date when you feel like you can offer none of these things to a prospective partner. It's even worse when you're a student and you don't even have the money to offer to pay for the date. Every date involves that stressful moment where you hope to god they reach for that bill first.
