Netflix is full of hidden gems, but it can be a little scary venturing out of your safety zone – otherwise known as ‘titles related to’.

You don’t have to put in the hard yards sifting through crappy B-grade films to find something original and addictive because we’ve done it for you. Here’s five Netflix beauties that deserve recognition.

Black Mirror

This quirky series is finally starting to garner some well-deserved fame. It’s a must-see for anyone that wants to wow their mates with their arty sensibilities.

The low-down

Black Mirror dedicates itself to projecting the oncoming techopocalypse. Each episode is a mini film that reveals a cautionary tale of humanity. The writers absolutely nail the plot-twist without edging into cringe-worthy cliff-hanger territory. You’ll dig it.

The Fundamentals of Caring

Netflix is riddled with shitty Hollywood films that should be avoided like your semester readings. This film is the exception.

Obsession: Dark Desires

If you’re pretty messed up and enjoy watching documentaries about psychopaths (join the club), you’ll adore this series.

The low down

The series covers a bunch of scary stalking tales. It’s intense AF, teaching you to never ignore your institution. If someone seems like they’d take joy in killing puppies, they’re probably not worth getting to know. Lesson learned.
